Fear is a normal reaction and this emotion has been imprinted in all of us. Fear is the internal knowledge (whether true or false) that you are in danger or that something bad is about to happen. And, fear is usually accompanied by physical symptoms which are quite disturbing.
But, when it is not justified by any rational cause, or the presence of a real danger or threat and when it is also accompanied by the systematic avoidance of the situations that lead to it, then this is what is called a phobia.
Fortunately, much of the reaction to a fear can be reduced or even eliminated with hypnosis and/or NLP.
